A tourist planned to travel at 8 a.m., everything ready, but heavy rain forced him to cancel. Frustrated, he blamed the weather, his luck, even God. Later that day, the news reported that the place he had booked was destroyed in a sudden fire—if he had gone as planned, he might not have survived. What he called bad luck was actually mercy. We often resist interruptions because we prefer comfort and control, yet God sees what we cannot see. His protection does not always feel pleasant; sometimes it feels like disappointment. Scripture says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” — Rom 8:28 (KJ21). All things—even canceled plans and heavy rain. When our plans fall apart, we can trust that God’s purpose still stands, caring for us even when we misunderstand Him.
